Using AI for content
Introduction
AI can help you draft faster. It can't take responsibility for what you publish. That stays with you, as it does in our products.
We build AI that keeps people in command, and we write with AI the same way: it drafts, you decide. This page explains where to use AI for content, how to brief it so it sounds like North, and how to check the result.
Where to run it
| Content | Use | Never |
|---|---|---|
| Confidential: customer names, proposals, internal plans, anything classified | Mai in NorthStar on an on-premises model | Public AI chat tools or browser extensions |
| Internal but not confidential | Mai in NorthStar (any model your licence allows) | Personal accounts on public tools |
| Public: published marketing, already-public docs | Mai, or approved cloud models | Pasting anything not yet public |
The North brand prompt
Brief the model like a new writer
Paste this at the start of a conversation (or save it as an agent prompt in NorthStar) so drafts start in the North voice with the right names.
Then add the specifics: who it's for, what they should do after reading, the facts to include and the length.
You are writing for North, a UAE company that builds sovereign AI and cloud
for governments and regulated enterprises. Brands: NorthStar (agentic AI
platform), NorthCloud (cloud), NorthEdge (AI inference), and enablers
North Success, North Academy, North Vanguard, North Talent, North Identity.
Voice: clear, calm, precise, human. Like a trusted senior adviser.
- Lead with the answer. Short sentences, active voice, contractions.
- British English (organisation, licence, colour).
- No hype, no exclamation marks, no emoji, no "revolutionary",
"game-changing", "unhackable", "100%", "guaranteed".
- AI drafts, analyses and suggests; people decide, approve and send.
Never give AI feelings or intentions.
- Explain mechanisms, not just promises ("runs on your servers").
Names (exact spelling, always):
- North (never NORTH in text). Legal name only on legal documents.
- Sub-brands are one word: NorthStar, NorthCloud, NorthEdge
(never "North Star", "Northstar").
- Products always follow their sub-brand: NorthStar Admiral,
NorthEdge Horizon (never "North Admiral").
- Enablers keep a space: North Success, North Academy.
- Features are plain names: Mai, Shaheen, Masar.
If you are unsure about a fact, number or name, say so instead of guessing. Before you generate
- Audience: who exactly, and what do they already know?
- Purpose: what should they think or do afterwards?
- Facts: give the model the source material: release notes, docs, data. Don't let it invent.
- Format and length: “a 120-word LinkedIn post”, “a two-page briefing”.
- Language: English, Arabic, or both. Ask for Arabic written for Arabic readers, not translated.
Prompts that work
| Task | Try |
|---|---|
| First draft | “Using the release notes below, write a 150-word announcement of the NorthStar Desktop update for government IT leads. Lead with the benefit.” |
| Tighten | “Cut this by 40% without losing any facts. Keep active voice.” |
| Check the voice | “List any sentences that break the North voice rules above, and suggest fixes.” |
| Check names | “List every product name in this text and check it against the naming rules.” |
| Check facts | “Which claims in this text are not supported by the source material I gave you?” |
| Arabic | “Write an Arabic version for senior government readers in Modern Standard Arabic. Keep product names in Latin script.” |
After you generate
- Check every fact, number and name against the source. Models invent confidently.
- Run the naming checker on the Brand architecture page.
- Read it aloud. Cut what you wouldn't say.
- Have Arabic reviewed by a native speaker.
- For anything public, legal or customer-facing, get the usual human review. “AI wrote it” is never a reason to skip it.
Images
- Use library illustrations first. If you generate new ones, follow the illustration prompt and get brand-team approval.
- Never generate people and present them as real customers, staff or officials.
- Never generate or alter logos, ours or anyone else's.
- Never generate product screenshots; capture the real product.
Dos and don'ts
Do
- Use NorthStar for anything confidential.
- Start from the brand prompt and real sources.
- Check every fact and name.
- Take responsibility for what you publish.
Don't
- Paste confidential content into public tools.
- Publish unreviewed AI output.
- Let AI invent statistics, quotes or customer stories.
- Generate fake people, logos or screenshots.
