# Logo and lockups

## Files
- URL pattern: `/assets/logos/<name>-<colourway>.svg` (also `.png`, 400px high). Use SVG wherever possible.
- Colourways: `midnight` (on light), `snow` (on dark; sub-brand stars take the signal colour), `black`, `white` (one-colour print only), `snow-star` (master logo/icon, Oasis star, on Midnight).
- Stacked lockups: `<name>-stacked-<colourway>.svg`. Bilingual (interim, Arabic name): `<brand>-bilingual-[stacked-]<colourway>.svg`.
- Available names: `north-logo`, `north-icon`, `north-app`, `north-star`, `northstar`, `northcloud`, `northedge`, `northstar-desktop`, `northstar-admiral`, `northstar-skipper`, `northstar-studio`, `northstar-gateway`, `northstar-marketplace`, `northedge-horizon`, `northedge-garden`, `northedge-batch`, `northedge-observe`, `north-success`, `north-academy`, `north-vanguard`, `north-talent`, `north-identity`, `north-bilingual`, `northstar-bilingual`, `northcloud-bilingual`, `northedge-bilingual`.

## Versions
- Full logo (NORTH wordmark with the four-point star above the N): default. Covers, campaigns, websites, events, anything with other brands, first contact.
- Icon (N + star): app icons, favicons, avatars, product UI where the name is nearby, content slides, small square spaces.
- App icon tiles: `north-app-icon-aurora`, `north-app-icon-midnight` (1024px squares, rounded).
- Never retype the wordmark, never separate or move the star.

## Colour
- Midnight logo on white, Dune and light Aurora. Snow logo on Midnight, photography and dark. Snow + Oasis star is the signature on Midnight.
- Never recolour, gradient-fill, outline, add shadow/glow, lower opacity, rotate, stretch, or place on busy imagery or low contrast.

## Clear space and size
- x = cap height of the NORTH letters (not the star). Clear space ≥ 0.5x on all sides (≥ 1x on covers/posters). Lockups: 0.5x of the icon's N height.

## Placement
- Top left (title slides, documents) is default; top right for content slides; centred for hero moments; bottom right for closing frames. Align to the grid margin. Keep one position per series. Arabic/RTL layouts: top right is default.

## Lockups
- Construction: icon, then brand name in Helvetica Now Display Bold, then product name in Display Regular. Name cap height = 0.65 × N height; gap = 0.34 × N height; name centred on the N body.
- Sub-brands, products and enablers have generated lockups. Components and features never get lockups: use the product lockup and write the component name as text.
- Signal-colour star only on dark backgrounds.

## Logo with a URL
- With partners, customers, government entities or sponsors use a co-branding lockup: /AGENTS/co-branding.
- Logo + URL: URL in Helvetica Now Text Medium, lowercase, beside or below the logo (north.ae, north.ae/northstar, academy.north.ae).
